St Claude Morez by train and bicycle
Opened in 1912, the St Claude railway line at Morez was one of the last conquests of the French railway system! Today, it offers a guided 25-km journey through the Haute Vallée de la Bienne, of great interest to tourists and historians alike. It passes over 1 viaduct and through numerous tunnels (18, including the Frasses tunnel, which curves in the shape of a horseshoe beneath the mountain), unveils the spectacle of the Bienne gorges, including a stop for a guided tour of Morez, before arriving in Morbier...The train ride takes you from 450 to 900 m in altitude, with the possibility of making the return trip by bike along the gorges.

Conquering the viaducts
After a short walk along the leafy paths between Morez and Morbier, you take the train, go through one more 800-metre-long tunnel before finding yourself overhanging the eyeglass capital of France from the famous Cluz de Morez viaducts. This railway line is listed as a historical monument. The trip takes 2 hours 30 minutes and is suitable for the whole family. The route is commentated on by a qualified guide, and is open to private individuals in season and to groups by appointment the rest of the year.
